Spouses' Club of Fort Eustis
SCFE is proud to help our military and local community. This event will raise much needed funds to provide quality care and assist in the needs of our local wounded warriors and their families, as well as fund the Spouses' Club of Fort Eustis Scholarship and Welfare grant endeavors. As a private organization, we are dedicated to providing Friendship, Service and Support within the Fort Eustis community. Our purpose is to develop and foster camaraderie, responsibility, support and to provide welfare and educational scholarships. We are not a part of the Department of Defense or any of its components and have no government status. All sponsorships representation will be solely on the SCFE website, Facebook page and/or ads purchased thru the SCFE.
The Spouses' Club of Fort Eustis (SCFE) will host it's third annual 5 and 10 K Warrior Run on 16 April 2016. Proceeds from the race will benefit local SCFE Scholarship and Community Grant programs.
This is a USATF sanctioned event and certified course ( VA 14014RT-5K map and VA14007RT-10K map). The surface is 99% flat asphalt roadways. The race will take you past the historic Matthew Jones house, along the beautiful James River with a view of the Ghost Fleet near Fort Crawford and then past a site of an early American brick factory located on Mulberry Island.
Run or walk as an individual or start your own team.
Timing is provided by Colonial Sports using state of the art ChronoTrack timing system at the start and finish line locations.
Facilities: for military I.D. card holders will be available at Anderson Field House, once open. Ample Parking, water points and portable restrooms will be stationed at various locations on the race and at the finish line.
Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Fort Eustis is conveniently located between Newport News and historical Williamsburg. Take I-64 to Fort Eustis Blvd, exit 250A and proceed to the main gate (approx. 1 mile) Stay to your right and turn into the visitor center to obtain a temporary pass. Visitors will need: current drivers license or I.D., proof of insurance, current registration and state inspection.
Pre-registration packet pick-ups will be held on Friday, April 15th, from 1100-1400 and 1600-1800 at the SCFE Clubhouse on Calhoun Drive (1st right off of Washington)
Kids Fun Run-0730- age staggered
Awards-immediately following the end of each race category.
Overall 1st and 2nd male and female winners of 5 and 10K
all registered participants will receive a finisher medal
All registered children participating in the Kids Fun Run will receive a medal
T-shirts are guaranteed to all pre-registered runners by March 22, 2016
